Episcopacy Ethics & Etiquette Symposium: Grace and Peace, to whom all these greetings and salutations may come, we would like to welcome each of you to the UFAI Episcopacy Ethics & Etiquette Symposium. This teaching forum is not designed to offer an exhaustive exposition of all the intricate details of the historical legacy nor all of the philosophical workings of the office and duties of the Bishopric. However, our attempt is to give you the tools needed to START the transformation from the Lower House of Prelates, (Overseers) into the office of an Ecclesiastical Prince in the Lord’s Church. We offer this symposium, only to those that are willing to be a life time student, committed to the preservation of the dignity of this office, continuously willing to grow and learn. The UFAI Episcopacy Ethics & Etiquette Symposium will serve as an Exordium or preliminary discipline to: - Provide tools for leadership with a desire for the office of the Bishopric. - Assist in the much needed protection of the episcopacy and assuring that those that participate conform to orthodox doctrinal practices, so that we can weed out unsuitable pretenders from such a sacred chair in the Lord’s Church. We desire to prepare Episcopal candidates beyond their commitment to Christ and academic excellence; to develop in each of them a high moral character with strong family values that guide their Christian walk. If possible, we encourage those that desire the office of the Bishop to gain a firm foundation of the office while faithfully serving in the Lower House of the Prelature, in the office of an Overseer. This is to ensure that the purity of the prelatures with success in the line of succession. At the end of our time together, it is our desire to have moved you up the conscious competence ladder as it relates to the office of the Bishopric: Charles Spurgeon, known as the “Prince of Preachers” said, “Every workman knows the necessity of keeping his tools in a good state of repair, for “if the iron be blunt, and he do not whet the edge, the most he put to more strength.” The point that he was making is that we shall be likely to accomplish much more when we are in best spiritual condition; with our gifts and graces in good order. This needs to be our practical guide of truth as it relates to our moral character. We can have all the knowledge, but if we ourselves are not in proper alignment with the will of God it is not only costly to us, but also to those that God has given to us for Episcopal oversight and ecclesiastical supremacy.
