Ninja Your Life
The Art of Staying Human
Re-Launch episode coming soon!
Hosted by Dr. Sahnya Thom (“Dr. T”) — psychology professor, lifelong martial artist, mindfulness practitioner, coach, and speaker — Ninja Your Life is a podcast about staying grounded, emotionally healthy, compassionate, and fully human in an overwhelmed and rapid world.
Originally launched in 2016, the podcast returns nearly a decade later with a renewed mission shaped by both personal growth and the enormous cultural changes of the past ten years.
Since then, Dr. Thom completed her Doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology while continuing her work in psychology, mindfulness, resilience, wellbeing, and human flourishing. She also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and teaches psychology full-time at the college level.
As a society, we have collectively lived through a global pandemic, rising loneliness, nervous system exhaustion, information overload, the rapid emergence of AI, and increasing pressure to constantly perform, compare, optimize, and keep up.
Many people are burned out, disconnected, overstimulated, and quietly longing for something more real.
This podcast is not about politics or partisan discourse.
Instead, Ninja Your Life explores how we cultivate emotional resilience, authentic connection, compassion, mindfulness, psychological wellbeing, and meaningful human flourishing during times of uncertainty and change.
Blending psychology, mindfulness, contemplative wisdom, wellbeing science, and martial arts philosophy, topics include:
emotional resilience mindfulness and nervous system regulation human-centered AI post-traumatic growth authentic living meaningful human connection compassion and emotional intelligence sustainable wellbeing purpose and flourishing creativity, nature, and contemplative living healing from fear-based culture staying human in an algorithm-driven world Dr. Thom also brings the perspective of a lifelong martial artist and 6th Degree Black Belt in Karate with training in Muay Thai, Indonesian Silat, and Bruce Lee’s Jeet Kune Do — not as systems of aggression or superiority, but as practices of awareness, discipline, adaptability, humility, courage, and compassionate strength.
To her, being a “ninja” is not about domination, perfection, emotional armor, or becoming better than others.
It means learning how to stay grounded under pressure, adapt wisely, protect what matters, connect authentically, and move through life with integrity, mindfulness, and heart.
The podcast also features recurring ☕ Tea with Dr. T sessions — warm, reflective solo conversations exploring the deeper emotional realities many people are quietly carrying, including burnout, loneliness, purpose, healing, relationships, social media overwhelm, modern culture, mindfulness, creativity, and the search for meaning and connection in everyday life.
Deeply influenced by a love for nature, animals, poetry, contemplative living, creativity, kindness, and authentic human connection, Ninja Your Life is a space for thoughtful people of all ages and backgrounds seeking a wiser, kinder, and more meaningful way to live.
This is growth without perfectionism.
Wisdom without ego.
Power without domination.
Love over fear.
Humanity over algorithms.
Presence over performance.
Ninja Your Life is not about becoming better than others.
It’s about becoming more fully human. 🌿 more
