The day before yesterday I had my friend Mikel from Bilbao on visit. We went to Malmköping, a little picturesque place near us. We had lunch on a hotel with some atmosphere. We had a typical Swedish dish, raggmunk (potatoe pancake) with pork and lingonberry jam.

Fourth year Spanish students from Alpharetta High School visited CVES to share their stories. Each pair of students read and translated stories they authored in Spanish. The books were beautifully illustrated and well written. After the story the students asked students if they would like to learn some new words in Spanish and wrote them on the board. Students also learned the familiar Days of the Week song, in Spanish! Thank you AHS for being such a great neighbor.

Students in Room 6 have started to learn Spanish. Morgan and Kachina (both Year 7 students) decided to record a podcast about some of the interesting things they have found out about Spanish, so far.
Other students have been working on Spanish podcasts too, so look back again soon to see what they can teach you!

| In this podcast, I ask students to choose one of the Spanish poems we have been reading in class and recite it as a podcast, focusing on meaning and emphasis as well as good pronunciation in Spanish. This will be a good exercise in getting comfortable with speaking Spanish, while becoming more familiar with a concrete piece of literature and history. In later assignments, students will be asked to analyze the poem that they make into a podcast. |

The mood is right, the L's are being passed around, & the "Latina" is waiting on me! Well, oh well... She's so fly, so I introduced myself as Spanish.. Spanish Fly! Enjoy this session that by the way, was on the fly too!
