Georgia has claimed up to 20 Russian planes shot down. Of course Russia denies this but has admitted to a surprise at the Georgian air defenses. Other than that though, Georgia's response to the Russians appears puny and unconvincing.
On the other hand, Russia's air force has not covered itself in glory. Missed targets - obviously missed - and large numbers of civilians killed do not speak highly of their training or precision weapons.
