XDC Radio Pittsburgh was originally founded in 2004 under the call letters WSRG by Chris Thompson and Eli Schulli. It was a private nonprofit FM radio station that was built in Chris's garage. Did I fail to mention it was an illegal pirate radio station? That's right, no FCC license. Every Saturday night at 10pm Chris and Eli would hit the airwaves for 2 hours bringing slapstick comedy and great rock-n-roll to anyone who happened to be tuning in to the frequency of 90.3 FM. This went on for about a year until it became too dangerous to broadcast anymore. Chris realized this with a little help from the FCC and so WSRG was shut down. Still wanting to broadcast, Chris looked for a way to do his show legally and soon discovered a new thing that was drowning out the internet called podcasting. WSRG was back, but there was only one problem. Eli decided that he had enough with the broadcasting lifestyle and moved on to other projects, leaving Chris to fend for himself in the broadcasting world. Chris was stuck without a co-host and was worried about how his show would do in the podcasting world. He questioned himself and wondered if he could make it on his own as a broadcaster. Around that same time a young man by the name off Jack Norris was searching for a way to express himself through views he had regarding religion, politics, stupid humor, etc. Jack knew Chris from the place that they both worked at, but he never really knew what Chris did regarding the show. One day while eating lunch together Jack asked Chris about the show and if could come over and try it sometime. Chris said yes and the next show he did Jack would be on. It turned out that Jack had a natural sense of confidence behind the microphone and a great personality for radio. Chris invited Jack back multiple times to do the show and as it got better Chris soon realized that Jack was who he needed to make the show complete. In September 2006 the two joined forces entitled there show THE NEW EDGE. Then in late 2008 a listeners by the name of Scott Spencer joined the crew after submitting a podcast that he made for Chris and Jack. The two thought that Scott would be a great addition to the station/feed and so they asked him to join the crew as a regular DJ. Scott loved the idea and so The Scott Spencer Show was born. WXDC has been through a lot in the past. We had our problems with the law, the F.C.C, poser broadcaster who can't accept the truth. You know the ones I'm talking about. The ones that can't accept the fact that they're not that goddamn good!!! But that's a minor topic, almost MEDIOCRE!!! The truth is, we know that we're not great, actually we suck. We're just here to have a good time, and that's it!!! One more thing........BUBBA ARMY FOREVER!!!
