Twisted Pear are James Watts and David Hughes, from Norwich and Cambridge respectively. They are both 23. They have been DJing together for 10 years, since they attended the same high school.

Both were DJing from a tender age before, then decided to form a duo. Influences have been far and wide across the years from electronica (their beloved Orbital), to progressive house, trance, electro, minimal and techno. Both, however have followed the Breaks scene since it's inception back in the late 90's, early 00's. Recently the Pear sound has evolved, taking in Techno and Electro House influences as well as Tech House and Minimal, which has found them playing a brand of big room sounds that are hard to come by locally.

They have always been pushing forward, moving from a half vinyl/half digital set-up to all digital and beyond, bringing more styles into the mix, practising new tricks and trying to create a blend different from the rest of the local scene. The current 'Pear set up features CD decks, Mixers and Laptops, along with various Midi controllers.

They reached the Semi-Finals of Outline Magazine's "Dex Factor '07" and represented on the "dex" at Mustard to a great reception. 2008 was a busy year for the boys, with most of it being spent locked away in the studio at Twisted Pear HQ.

The production machine roared into action with their first tune number "Midnight Express" nearing mastering at the end of the year, with a result expected in the early new year, and plans for 2009 hopefully being the year of much production.

The DJing reached new heights, several mixes were recorded, various competitions were entered, and some great pieces of music were recorded.

2008 ended on a big high - the guys appeared on Crackerz & Jam's Future Radio show, broadcasting an hour-long guest mix all over Norwich which was met again with an overwhelmingly positive reaction. A fantastic final point was the completion of the "Kitchen Sessions 2" mix - many hours were poured into it, featuring some brand new exclusive Twisted Pear re-edits, re-arrangements and bonus beat versions. It is also available for download by following the link from our blog page.

After much talk, 2009 will also be the year of Twisted Pear Promotions, with the wheels starting to turn on the first party, now entitled DNA and will be hosted by the Mustard Lounge on 22nd April. The Pear will host and headlining will be fellow high riser Nick Bowman.
