Felipe Brasil Rocha a.k.a Supermassive was born in 1983 in São Paulo, Brazil.
With only 6 years old, music entered his life never to leave. In few years he became a huge fan of rock, heavy metal, classical music and began taking guitar lessons, in which learned a lot about music theory. In 1998 Felipe began to frequent clubs, raves and festivals that sparked his passion for electronic music.
Djing since 2005, Supermassive always delivered innovation, groove, identity and quality in his sound. Because of this, in 2006, he was invited to run a monthly show on the Canadian radio Afterhours (www.ah.fm) alongside big names of trance and progressive such as Markus Schulz, Sebastian Brandt, Kyau & Albert, Marcus Schossow, Johan Gielen, Lange, Heatbeat, Orjan Nilsen, Leon Bolier, Sied Van Riel and Mat Zo. For 3 years, Supermassive command the pick ups in Musik Garden show playing the fine and fresh tech-trance tracks of the moment with some techno and progressive contaminations, having great feedbacks of the radio audience.
In 2009 he felt a need to change and evolve his sound. In search of new challenges and inspirations, Supermassive decided to leave the radio and make an independent podcast, called Freakout, where he could play a wider spectrum of styles and fully express his new sound. Despite being composed on a techno basis, the new show it’s all about groove and quality music, regardless of style or labels. The eclectic sound of Supermassive can be noted in his influences: Wehbba, Marco G, DJ Preach, Massive Attack, Radio Slave, Dubfire, Sander Van Doorn, Carl Cox, Faithless, Cristian Varela, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, John Selway, Speedy J, Umek, Mauro Picotto, Unkle and Christian Smith.
So far Supermassive has played in some private parties and small clubs like Tostex and Authentic 405 and won some lovers of his work. With great dedication, learning, ethics and hard work he aims to play in big clubs and start his producer career.
