solidstatela is the original podcast from one half of the duo producing HVW8's Live at the BBQ podcast. Max (Just Max to be exact) began this listing in late 2005 as a way to extend his musical reach beyond LA and the West Coast to the rest of the world. The playlists include a full spectrum of styles - mega-rare originals of jazz, funk, soul and reggae to the newest in floor fillers. Anything is fair game so long as the feeling's right!

From this original show, recognition has grown steadily, enabling Max to work with everyone from Daz-I-Kue to Peanut Butter Wolf, Jt Donaldson to DJ Rhettmatic.

Max's recent increase in work at HVW8 has slowed the post frequency here to a trickle but the archives have been raided and incredibly classic mixes are on their way as you read this!!
