ah the mix tape. a dead art. sigh. remember having a drawer full of tapes your friends made you? remember how loved you felt when you looked at that drawer? each one was made with you in mind, given careful thought to the content and flow, reflecting both the maker's feelings and your relationship with that person.

i was good at the mix tape, or so i believe. but like most talents i've acquired, there's not much venue for showcase. soooo, here is my reasoning for my podcast. i love making the mix playlist. why? hell i dunno. i just do. so here it is.

in 2009 i embark on a new podcast project: a song a day. each week i post a podcast of seven songs, summing up my week. a podcast audio blog, if you will.

oh, and i'm going to jump around all over the place. you might here can, esquivel, nick cave, echo and the bunnymen, bowie, xtc, wire, the fall, and my latest favorites, like the mary onettes, deerhunter, the black heart procession, film school. oh just look at the playlists, k? k.
