If you are looking for a DJ who can rip up a main set, keep your hands in the air all night and leave the hairs standing up on the back of your neck as the morning draws in, then you’ve got him in Alan Hartley.

Always thinking of himself as a clubber first and jock second, having found his love for house music in '86, Alan admittedly started his DJing career late in 1995, at the not so tender age of 28. Since then he has more than made up for lost time spinning his way around the north west of England and beyond, securing gigs at many of the UK’s biggest glam-house nights.

Starting out with a residency at Liverpool’s now infamous G Bar, back when it was still in its infancy in 96, the likes of the Manchester Mardi Gras, Love Junky, Venus, Vain Glorious and Garlands all feature heavily on the Hartley CV. Few can have escaped his dazzling, floor-shaking sets when resident for cool-Cheshire party organisers Ultima and Peruvia and more recently he has entertained the beautiful people at Miss Moneypennies and Chuff Chuff.

Inspired by such luminaries as Graeme Park, Jeremy Healy and Alister Whitehead – in their mid-90’s heydays - Alan has always made it his mission to bring to clubbers the sort of music and the sort of night that he himself would want to be part of.

Versatile and skilled at steering the dancefloor, Alan is never selfish, believing that clubbers’ inspiration and satisfaction should come before musical education and personal preference every time. Equally happy playing the big girly vocals, anthems and all-time classics as he is dropping upfront tracks, his ability to cut up spine-tingling acappellas is breathtaking and it is not for nothing that his closing sets have become the stuff of legend among fans.

Currently resident and co-founder at Manchester’s most glamorous house night - Twisted Elegance - with his flamboyant fashion style and ever-professional attitude Alan is always hard to miss both on and off the decks. But when he is on them, and forcing the crowd to keep on dancing until dawn, believe me you would not want to.
