There are no shortcuts to becoming a good writer. You can ride the slipstream of your creativity and that's heady stuff, but time has a knack for erasing all but the Shakespeares and the Hemingways. I don't know how it does that, but it's foolproof. I think about things like that, and I suppose you do, too.
