My name; obviously, is JD. I'm a singer/songwriter and have been since I was 13 years old. I wrote my first song about a girl named Sara who broke my heart. It was always my dream to grow up and be a great artist. My most influential artists were Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Paul Simon, Neil Young, James Taylor....just to name a few. I loved all types of music, especially early rock.... Led Zeppelin was the ultimate band and still the best band of all time, in my opinion. Now back to my musical career.... I wrote a lot of love songs and broken heart songs with the 4 chords that I knew on the guitar ( God Bless Credence for showing how versatile 4 chords could be) I was in a couple bands in grade school and early High School... But then came the late 60's and - Peace- Love -Dope-. I fell deep into the drugs and alcohol scene and my musical career was only in my mind... I still wrote and sang, but most of the time to a bunch of passed out hippies who - like me- only cared about the next party.........over 20 years passed in a heartbeat and I found myself a divorced, alcoholic bartender with an old guitar and some bad songs...... Then I met Kristina ......she showed me who Jesus was ... and my life changed....... Now I write songs about hope instead of dope; about real love instead of lust... about true peace. I became a worship leader for a youth group of a small church and told kids the truth about life and drugs and salvation. I know that this might not be the most popular thing to do; but I do know that it is the right thing for me to do. I hope you will listen to some of my music......and I pray that someone will hear something that they have been searching for .. and perhaps turn their life around also........It can happen...... it happened to me.........
