The Hiphocalypse is a MOVEment of African Hip Hop incorporating The Hiphocalypse Radio Show. THE HIPHOCALYPSE© is a radio show on the Rhodes University campus radio station Rhodes Music Radio (RMR) started in August 1999.

The name HipHocalypse was devived from the concept of a hip hop induced Apocalypse. The end of the world as we know it...and hip hop music is the voice of the revolution in the apocalypse - hence: HIPHO-CALYPSE! (pronounced hipo-kalips).

We seek to "tune today's society out of their channel zero" by opening their third metaphysical eye through hip hop music. We also focus on the promotion of Local (and) international positive hiphop acts through our radio show and web hosting on this site.
