GUY FERGUSON

I got my first record deck at the age of 4 years old! If that counts. Playing mary had a little lamb & London bridge is falling down. I must of driven my foaks mad but it wasn't going to end there....
I guess i had much influence from my dad as he played an electric guitar & had played in a band in early years & also had two turntables without pitch controls!
For some years i used to record the top forty every Sunday on our family hifi system ensuring there were no breaks & minimal voice overs. It probably didn't do the tape deck much good stopping, starting, pausing & recording repeatedly. At that time i used to go to the primary school discos with my brother & loved it. Although my mum used it as a punishment not to go if we were bad. I think back now probably more punishment for her if we didn't go. After going to them everytime they were on we got to know the DJ that did them who lived four doors from where we lived. My brother began helping him set up & pack away, eventualy at other venues where i got involved. Eventualy my brother got a pair of tecknics turntables & was out in the garage making light boxes for small discos. One being at our secondary school once a month & one or two at local pubs.
Although i wasn't much into making light boxes my brother wasn't much into standing behind the decks & actually doing the gig. Thats where i came in!
My taste in music has changed very much over the years but influenced from pop, disco, rock, hip hop & rave. When all the rave & underground dance music hit the scene i couldn't get enough In later years i had bought my first second hand turntables with mixer that had top, mid & low kill switches. The only trouble was you could still hear the other deck when the cross fader was on the other side. I learnt to mix tapes & used to take my decks round to my friends house who had a computer alot for parties which were great fun..Although i pushed my tapes far & wide the competion was high & gigs were few. My friend with his computer got soft ware called sound forge where by my mix could be recorded onto disc which ment more chance for me to play out. Once it had been recorded i handed it to local club venues in Eastbourne where i lived hopeing for some feed back. Anyway i heard nothing until a close friend who had heard my CD being played in a club (i won't mention) with a guy standing behind the decks pretending to play!!! Although i was angree at the time the CD did get me a residency at another club in Eastbourne (The Rythem Rooms) called Bangin. Although i lived in Eastbourne i used to go out in London & Brighton alot as the music scene in Eastbourne seemed behind.
In the end i met my wife at the Zap (pussy cat club night) Brighton & moved to Shoreham.I have played at The Honey Club, Zap ( now Digital ), Pu Na Na, Lo Lounge, bars in & around Brighton plus promoted & held residencies. Although it would be nice to get a gig outside of.......Mind you i did get offered to play in 2007 for The Ministry of Sound & Hed Kandi in Egypt but at that time i was getting ready for my wedding with my lovely wife & was not a good time. At present i play every Saturday at Supersexy@The Angel & have been resident for over two years. I have also had slots in London & recently played in Grease, Rhodes in Lindos.
What does the future hold ? Well i am very much interested in producing music & have made a couple of tracks. I have a very good ear in all styles of dance music & would play in any small or large venue.
