I Started "Mixing" when I was 18. Before that( from 12 YO until,) I used to listen and record any mix show FM radio had to offer. The original 92 WKTU FM(NYC) was my station of choice. They had DJ's John 'Jellybean' Benitez, Jose 'The Animal', The Latin Rascals, and a host of other talents. 98.7 Kiss FM had Shep Pettibone, Tony Humphries doing the Kiss Mastermixes, and 107.5 WBLS had Merlin Bob at Midday. I would spend hours listening to the mixes from each one . Trying to get how they did all those cool cuts and mixes.I practiced a lot and slowly developed my style.
