DJ Fabio Tamborrini

It all started in the Summer of ’98; until then Fabio’s only preoccupation with dance music was to be present at the best club events every weekend to dance to his favourites tunes spun by leading DJ’s such as Louis Vega, Mousse T. and Jamie Lewis. Then, on one day (in ’98) he thought he would like to try his hand at the decks and so invested in a bedroom-DJ set-up. Here he started learning the tools of the trade by playing Deep- and Soulful House, and Chicago style Garage.
His first public gig came pretty quickly thereafter, as did follow on bookings; Fabio seemed to have a dab hand at the decks and more bookings followed at a healthy pace to appear at leading Swiss clubs such as Annex, Atlantis and Barrouge in Basel; Kaufleuten, Supermarket, Club Q and Säulenhalle in Zürich, RAL3018 in Lugano, L&G in Zug, El Harem in Olten, to name a few.

In the Winter 2000 Fabio got together with his friends Amadeus Paulussen (kubusmedia.com) and Mark Stone (udmshow.com) and collected his first dance music production experiences under the name of t/t/o/m (the 2 of many). With the same crew, this time under the name of Face2Face, Fabio became further involved producing remixes together with DJ Fred Licci. Such remixes were extremely well received by punters in clubs across Switzerland, and that without any official releases!

Fabio developed his music style further and further, not least being influenced by labels such as Naked Music and Large Records, which helped his discovery in how electronic sounds could compliment the classic tones of House Music.
This has enabled Fabio to play most dance music styles according what the punters on the dance floor want. However, should one ask him what his personal favourite styles are, then he would answer: “No matter whether House, Electro, Deep, Minimal or Soulful House, I love playing music; and obviously its got to be music I like! There is great stuff out there covering all styles, so why limit oneself to only one?!”

Those who know Fabio also know that he likes new challenges, and such challenges included creating the Basel based event label COCOMANIA (ex Coccoon) with his friend Ozan Ökkes back in 2005. The venture was an immediate success turning into a monthly sell out!

As his engagement as Ibiza manager for tilllate.com, now already in his 3rd year, Fabio has been able to meet many leading international artistes, promoters producers and radio stations on the island, helping him further his know-how behind the decks and experience in the dance music world. Radio Ibiza Sonica features regular DJ sets from Fabio, as do Metro FM in Turkey and tilllate Radio, all in all increasing his exposure across Europe and beyond.

These days one can not only enjoy Fabio at gigs in Switzerland along the side of International DJ’s such as Sandy Rivera, Grant Nelson, Clive Henry, Tobi Neumann, Pastaboys, Mike Monday, Jamie Lewis, and Luca Bacchetti, but also at clubs in Ibiza, Miami, Croatia, Thailand and Turkey……. and more – watch this space!
