Give it a listen!
Welcome to my podcast page and thanks for paying my site a visit.
This site is devoted to underground House Music, particularly to Detroit Techno and Deep House. The two genre of House and Techno Music go hand in hand in the style that I produce my mixes, just like it was done by the early pioneering Dj's of that era.
A little bit about me:
I am an architect, photographer, cyclist, and a bedroom DJ, and music hobbyist. I have been a Detroit Techno and Deep House Head since 1988.
I have seen the evolution of House and Techno music transform into many sub-genre's throughout these past 21 years. I have always maintained my loyalty to Detroit Techno, Acid House, and Deep House. In the past I have mixed some Electro and progressive for these fan based listeners.
I danced at the best house and techno venues in NYC from 1988 till 1996. My favorite places, which I still hold close to my heart were at the Sound Factory, The Underground, Red Zone, Limelight, Club USA, Roxy, and The Palladium.
The name ethereal-house was first used by a local dj who hosted a show on WNYU FM in 1990. Ethereal which means refine was to used to describe some of the best instrumental house music that came out of Italy, Chicago, and NYC, i.e. Whistle Song, Song of the Sire, Calypso of House. The music program came on every day at 11:00PM, and the underground music was sponsor by Discorama Records. It was at Discorama Records, who I met Antwon, a dancer and a dj, who got me hooked into Deep House and Techno Music. After Antwon left I met Moe aka Dj Rio, who also worked at the shop, who was one of the first Dj's in NYC that introduced me to Progressive House Music. I saw Dj Rio perform at a couple of venues in the city back in 1994.
The Progressive House music that I knew from 1992 to 1995 does not compare to the commercial sound that I hear every dj play today. It's incredible that Deep House has still remain Deep, it's essence has not been lost thanks in part to people like you and I who love the underground house music scene.
Peace.
