Eddie Vanderhyden

320x240_1969551

From his teenage years it was clear that Eddie's love of house music was going to be a great influence on his life. At 16 attending low key house parties his love of House music would take over the ghetto blasters at parties, as he influenced his peers in the latest Paul Oakenfold sounds.

Eddie's musical taste broadended through his early clubbing days of going to Passion and Gatecrasher and finding new sounds through listening to his casette recordings of Radio One's Essential Mix. After hearing the Cassius essential mix he started delving into deeper funkier sounds and attending the legendary Smokesreen free parties.

In his hometown of Lincoln Eddie held many numerous residencies with good friend/dj partner Steve Darley under the guise of "Funktec". From Boat parties to Outdoor Free parties, Reach at Po Na Na, Choobe at The Cell, Kind, Drill Hall, Orgasmic's and Bar Ingo.

After a few years he felt ready for a change of scene and moved to the Ibiza of the North: Leeds (sorry Manchester!) to pursue solo ambitions. Whilst living in Leeds and getting to know the house social scene he became more influenced by the dj's that appeared at the vast array of Leeds’s top nights and clubs including the legendary Back2Basics, Dirty Disco, The Mint Club, Wire, The Faversham, the infamous Ketoloco and VeryVeryWrongIndeed! Through networking and frequently popping out his deep tech house mixes he has been asked to play at various Leeds venues/parties such as Soapbox at Wire, Strut at Warehouse, more recently bar room bar and many many afterparties. Eddie's musical style he would describe as Deep Tech House electronic music to move your body and feet. His current dj set up is two CDJ 1000's and Denon DN-X1500 and he is looking soon to delve into the world of Traktor. Influenced by some of the biggest pioneer dj's he has heard through the years such as; Dan Ghenacia, Steve Lawler, Peace Division, Tom Middleton, Laurent Garnier, Paul Woolford. And more recently Tiefschwarz, Dinky, Terry, Jamie Jones, Julietta and Simon Baker.
