Uber “glamorous and campy” soprano, Dorothy Bishop for a magical afternoon of elegance, laughter and great music in her 2007-2008 hit show “Viva la Diva!”. Zipper Factory Theater at 3 pm....just after the gay pride parade!
A resident of New York City, Miss Bishop has appeared with Hollywood Legend Faye Dunaway in the First Broadway National Tour of Terrence McNally’s Tony Award Winning Play Master Class. Dorothy made her Carnegie Hall debut with Skitch Henderson and the New York Pops in 2002. Regionally she has performed many of the great “Diva roles” including Lucia, Violetta, Tosca and Madam Butterfly. In 2007, Miss Bishop began touring internationally on the major luxury cruise ships across the world including the infamous Queen Elizabeth II and Queen Mary II Ocean Liners. Possessing the uncanny ability to switch vocal styles "on a dime" she has charmed audiences world-wide with everything from "Madama Butterfly to Dame Shirley Bassey!" With glamorous Parisian couture costumes, virtuosic vocals and a dash of elegant humor, you will be humming your favorite tunes and perhaps feel like a Diva (or a Divo!) yourself.
"Dramatic! Comic! Enchanting! Dorothy Bishop is a contender to be reckoned with!" raves Backstage Magazine.
