About Titanic:
Titanic grew up and spent most of his life living in metro Detroit and moved to Chicago about 5 years ago. Having been exposed to a wide array of musical talents from Detroit and Chicago, both Techno and House Music have been major influences on Titanic's musical direction over the years.
Titanic is an avid music collector, with an impressive collection of vinyl and over 13 years of DJ experience behind the decks. His DJ style is difficult to define with just a single musical genre. Titanic started off as a ghetto-tech/booty DJ, but whatever genre he's playing, the records are usually mixed frequently, tricks are thrown in, and he'll utilize beat-juggling, 3 decks, etc. Nowadays Titanic tends to play mostly deep house and techno (with the same unique style of mixing).
In 2004, Titanic was one of the original members of the Detroit-based house music collective, Pitchslap Music. Pitchslap was formed as a means of bringing together multiple DJs in the Detroit area (and beyond) who all share a common love for house music. Since its inception in 2004, Pitchslap became a well-established name within the house music community of Detroit. Always on the cutting edge musically, each member of the collective added a distinct style and personality. In late 2005, Titanic joined forces with fellow Pitchslap member Derek Foreal (also living in Chicago at the time) to form the tag-team deep house duo 'The Men of Leisure'. As a duo, The Men of Leisure have performed for dancefloors all across North America.
Mid-2005, record label owner, Justin McMillen, asked Titanic to join up with Detroit-based record label 'Kolour Recordings' as a partner. With a focus primarily on deep and funky house, Kolour Recordings has blossomed into a very reputable label. Kolour sub-labels 'Undertones' and 'House Is The Cure' have also received similar success.
As a DJ, Titanic has graced the decks with names such as Terrence Parker, Miles Maeda, Johnny Fiasco, Brett Johnson, DJ Sneak, Doc Martin, Jay Tripwire, Charles Feelgood, Derrick Carter, and Diz. He performed at the 'Movement 2004' Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF), playing an acid house/techno set to the Necto Techno Boulevard Stage. Titanic has held residencies at the famed Necto (Thursdays - www.thenecto.com - Ann Arbor, MI), Times Square Detroit (Fridays - www.timessquaredetroit.com - Detroit, MI), Spiral (Thursdays - www.spiraldancebar.com - Lansing, MI), and Troppo (Wednesdays - East Lansing, MI). Other notable venues Titanic has performed at include {Smartbar, House Of Blues, Zentra, Tini Martini, Lava Lounge, Minx, Sugar, Moda, Pressure Point Studios}(Chicago, IL), {The Works, Bleu, Panacea, X/S, Tonic, Exodus, Heat, Sevin, Clutch Cargos, Plan B, Buddah Lounge, Corktown Tavern, Forans}(Detroit, MI), {Mantra, Three, Moct, The Highbury}(Milwaukee, WI), {Clique}(Cincinnati, OH), {Daddy-O, Disco Beach}(Acapulco, MX), and {Halo}(New York, NY).
