First made aware of electronic dance music (edm) in ’92, djsquelch soon began producing and then mixing within months. djsquelch is diverse in his musical styles, collecting edm from the ‘90s.
djsquelch enjoys mixing and producing the sounds of ambient, downtempo, lounge, idm, acid, minimal, techno, trance, house, jungle, dnb, hardcore, happy hardcore, gabber, industrial, avant-garde, experimental, acid jazz, dub, reggae, turntablism, jazz, disco, rock, and spoken word.
When producing, he goes by the name of phase shifts. He enjoys analog and digital mediums and will happily work with either one or both in a heartbeat, as this brand of work has always been a playground to him.
Interests
Ever since his first event, djsquelch has wanted to do for others what that event did for him. His goals include publication, event hosting, artist promotion, and perhaps venue ownership. He hopes his weekly online broadcasts will help promote his sounds across the world.
When he isn’t sleeping, you can find djsquelch working on music, online, watching movies, listening to audio books, playing games, cooking, or chilling with his dog, pogo.
