Brian Williams A.K.A. DJ Orio (pronounced DeeJay Oreo) is an Orange County CA based turntablist that is known for his high energy electro/hip house music. When it comes to DJing, Orio approaches it from a different point of view than most electronic DJ's. Using turntables in conjunction with Serato Scratch Live, Orio avoids using CD players (CDJ's) in his live performances. Another thing that makes Orio unique is the fact that he uses no effects in his mixes. “The focus isnt how I can alter the song, its how I bring 2 songs together in a way that elevates energy”. To learn the art of Djing, Orio attended the Los Angeles Scratch Academy under the direction of DJ Hapa. The Scratch Academy was founded by Jam-Master Jay of Run DMC who also developed the curriculum. Orio is the outcome of tried and true knowledge of the game. Orio has performed all over southern CA at clubs and events like Circus Disco, Arena, Villa Lounge, V20, etc, as well as underground parties and the pilot for a reality TV show.
