DJ GOLdbERG – born as Janis Goldbergs in 1982. His interest for music appeared in his childhood, owing to parents large collection of vinyl. His interest for djing first appeared, when the boy was studying in Renda school, where the young dj threw different school parties and events. Janis Goldergs turned to more serious business in 1998. This time, sideways to studies, he started work at popular in Kuldiga radio station Skala. A noticeable input to Goldberg's professional development was made by Skala djs Dainis Pilskungs and Maris Dadzis. In the beginning of 2000, when Skala terminatated its existence, dj Goldberg started to work on Kurzemes Radio, where he was a live air dj and an audio advertisment engineer. Paralel to his work on the radio, he went on djing at school parties, local clubs and open-air parties in Kuldiga and Renda. After he switched place of living and work in 2002 dj GOLdbERG could be met in Riga. That was the time when he seriously turned to electronic dance music styles - vocal and sunny house, sometimes with a bit of afro sound, as well as progressive/uplifting trance. GOLdbERG participated in Zero Defect and Discomania DJ Crew teams, but since May 2006 he is representing ILLEGAL DJ TEAM RIGA. As a guest resident he was regularly playing in night clubs Essential, Grands, PMK, Graceland and PuPu Lounge, as well as cooperates with different promoters and dj teams in Latvia. dj GOLdbERG now specialisies only on trance music (progressive trance/techtrance).

During his dj career GOLdbERG played on one stage with such djs as Bogdan Taran, AG and Raitis, Kaspar Kondrat, Mr.Djinn and Hi-Fi from Latvia, Mr Sam (Black Hole Recordings) from France, Kolzar, DeeJay A.A.V, Whirl & Mayer, Kollom and Lang & Yep from Estonia, Max B.Grant from Swizerland, DKM from Russia and many others. In April 2006 dj GOLdbERG and his friends in cooperation with Discomania.lv organized an electronic charity dance music event House 2 Heart, where all the revenue was given for Reinis Runcis operation.

In September 2007 dj GOLdbERG in cooperation with nightclub PMK organized Mr Sam (France / Black Hole Recordings) "Opus World Tour" event in Latvia.

On march 2007 dj GOLdbERG starts to launch his own radioshow "Tranceatlantic Flight". "Tranceatlantic Flight" is a two hours long broadcast where it's possible to hear trance compositions – starting with entirely fresh and ending with real trance classics which are all compiled by dj GOLdbERG (1st hour) and different guest trance dj's (2nd hour). The idea of this broadcast for its creator has nee long time ago while listening and deriving inspiration from similar broadcast in other countries where that kind are made by world famous Dj's like Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and others. As the creator admits by himself – this broadcast is a wonderful chance to introduce listeners of Progressive Fm to really good trance music and to popularize this style of music in different kind of places in Latvia.
