AGE: 45 ,Born and Raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, “Dancer by HEART and Dj by SOUL” , the two in combination has allow to her expand her horizons in music with every aspects of its being...”wheither it be hearing it, playing it, mixing it or just seeing someone DANCE to it!!” DJ DatGurl Curly has been a dancer her entire life, when an injury curtailed her moves on the dance floor she turned her attention to the decks. Her motive was simple: to take the music that had been instilled in her and move people to dance the way the djs had made her dance when she was growing up. Thus "The Sounds of A Dancer" was born. Since 2006 Curly has enjoyed combining Soulful, Percussion, Afro, Latin, and Disco House into mixes that are sure to get the crowd moving on the dance floor. It is common to see her dancing behind the decks as she mixes. Her passion for good music is infectious, and her respect for the artists who made the music is obvious in the way she handles their music.
