Well, where does one begin in describing themselves?.... I feel like I'm on a speed dating game show!
My name is Craig & I am 36 years old & I was born in Sydney N.S.W. I am currently working back full time in the DJ game... & believe me it is a real game. I also work in the Sales & Logistics team for a company that sells high end office furniture, running their internet sales site. Before that I had been retailing music for 20 years. I LOVED working in music retail, but it was time for a change. I had worked for quite a few different retailers - Angel Records, Disco City, Our Price Music (U.K), Fish Records, HMV, Dirt Cheap CD's & then Sanity. With DJ'ing at the moment I am playing a few one off gigs at Mr.Marys & I played The Flinders Hotel on Mardi Gras '08... that was a blast! So when a promoter offers me a gig I jump at the chance to play at a club or dance party. The feeling of taking a dance floor on a journey into a crazy state of loosing themselves where the bass & the beats are the most important thing in the world at that moment in time is such a power trip & it's what all DJ's accross the globe strive for. But it is so hard to make the right connections in the world of club promoters. It really is the best job for those few hours when your behind those decks.

I do have my cult camp classics - Xanadu, Grease, 9 to 5, Serial Mom, Death Becomes Her, Torch Song Trilogy...(Young Mathew Broderick..HOT!)Donnie Darko, First Wives Club, Moulin Rouge, Romey & Michelle, Never Been Kissed, 80's Steve Martin films - any John Walters films & Star Trek films, I'm a bit of a Star Trek geek actually (...ssshh) I've even been to a couple of conventions. Some of those people that go to those conventions are a bit scary...dressing up & everything, but hey I just finished telling you that I went to Culture Club in full drag.... so each to their own!

I also have hundreds of 12" vinyl from my dj'ing, My favourite dance label at the moment is Toolroom & their offshoot - Toolroom Trax - My favourite Australian DJ's are Sveta, Kate Monroe, Kelly Lynch, Mandy Rollins, Feisty, Sandi Hotrod, Kitty Glitter, Lexie Bradfield, Scott Pullen, Dan Murphy, Alex Taylor, Alan Thompson, Chip, Luke Leal, Mark Alsop, Mark Murphy, Paul Goodyear, Sean Manly - even though Sean has stopped playing now cause "she's over it"!! But Sean was a fantastic DJ, it's a real art form to be able to DJ & I have so much respect for all these people I have mentioned that do it with such style & ease. And of course last but not leat the grandaddy of them all....DJ David Hiscock - Sorry Dave, I'm not saying you are old babe, but you have done it all, from cassettes to vinyl to CD & now you are at the fore front of digital DJ'ing - I love ya!
