When around 1995 Grazzhoppa & Afterhours mixtapes came to his ears , a serious bug infected dj Courtasocks brain and he started to buy his first records and slowly gathering a set-up to scratch that terrible itch he was suddenly suffering from . Together with tallented friends he formed the Cloud 9 collective whom started doing Hip-Hop shows in close collaboraton with their Fab Fudge friends.In 2002 he was runnner up in the Benelux DMC battle . To fullfill his growing funkey needs Courtasock in 2002 started jammin' with the instrumental funkband 'Muzzle' now renamed 'The lightning Brothers' and in 2004 they recorded the ' Funk Explorer' E.P. It was in 2004 that Courtasock was part of the 6 dj expansion of Grazz' DJBigband . Since 2006 Courtasock is part of the then founded 'Jazzalude' project,a funk/soul band Consisting of 13 musicians extracted from several groups . Also in 2006 the 'Beatdrunx' project came to life in the form of an E.P. and an album produced by the One Cell Parasite ,the rhymes delivered by Rub and Acrid Cast and the turntable interventions operated by Courtasock . Dj Courtasock played a host of venues throughout the entire country occasionally teaming up with dj's on various styles like hip-hop,funk,reggae,latinbossagroove,jazz,breakbeat and a wholelot of weirdness. He's also constantly jammin' with people and working on several projects . One of them is the cut-up project 'Language is a virus' ,a mix of beatpoetscratching and JazzSaxin' released in june 2007. Recently thru a stint at the Cameleon Festival he got involved with Campina Reggae a Belgian reggae band and is now vibin' along with Veston and the gang,recording the debut-album.
