A Chicago native and New York resident, Lono Brazil has been living in Los Angeles for the last 10 years and working as a Radio Show Host(KPFK 90.7 FM), DJ/Producer/Remixer. Also a former Executive at Capitol/EMI Records. He is well known in the music industry in Hip-Hop circles as an Executive Producer/Artist Manager launching the careers or working with artist such as The Beastie Boys, The Pharcyde, Foxy Brown, Channel Live, Spragga Benz, Ras Kass to name a few. Brazil, who owns the Cottage Grove label, has introduced some of music’s most influential artists to the public through his work with EMI and his monthly events at Sonotheque in Chicago and APT in New York City. Originally from the first wave of House Music Producers, DJ/Promoters from Chicago, Lono was instrumental in bringing Disco, House, African, Latin and Electronic to the forefront of the music scene and is still to this day regarded as an true ambasador of Quality Music.
