D-Former is a young DJ who was very influenced by "The Wizard" Jeff Mills radio shows and who started buying old Disco and Funk records while he was aged of 15.In 1997, He met DJ Lester aka Laurent A (R.I.P.), which one introduced him for a little radio show.Quickly, this radio show has become the only one in Bordeaux that played Detroit House and Electro/Techno every week. "A New Force Has Been Born" D-Former imposed his 3 decks style and started to play in some clubs like "Fatkat" and "Le 4 Sans" where he played with Dj Bone (Subject-Detroit) in 2002. D-Former continued with Dj Lester doing his 3 hours weekly radio show, giving a chance to the listeners to discover music that Submerge sells. "The idea of Electric Tracks started when I composed with Jules Wells the track called 'Wasted Funk' and following the nature of this track, the inspiration of the Electric Tracks mix came !" Then, Electric Tracks was released as a free mp3 compilation (Thanks Cliff !!!!) on Detroit Digital Vinyl / Submerge Records. Other artists like DJ Daborman (Hecticlab - Montreal), Pacou (Tresor - Berlin), The Plan aka Cliff Thomas and Jon Macnish (Thought Criminal, Crasheffort, Torque), have joined the label. 2006 : D-Former Electric Tracks Mix (Detroit Digital Vinyl / Submerge Records) DDV-004 (mp3 / zip.file) 28 tracks of deep and electric music taken from 430-West, Axis Records, Motech, UR, Subject Detroit, Electrofunk, KMS, FXHE, Down Low catalogues and others. Since then, D-Former still gives the best of "Hi-Tech Funk"music playing as well House, Detroit Techno/Electro or Ghetto Tech.His impressive technique that combines scratching, beat juggling, cutting...using 3 turntables gives then an urban dimension on each set. " I Play records and I can incorporate all elements I need, the 2 or 3 records I put on the decks give a lot of directions but the public and I will cross one of those directions...I follow music when it's sensitive, pure, emotive... essence of the grooves !!! " His Interest for the vinyl support has no limits. He launch in 2006 The "Before mix" serie that already includes more than 30 battle - mixes with him and other local DJ's like DJ Khmer, his friend and second half of the new label.Recorded sometimes at home, sometimes in local parties or events. 2008 is the year when he decides to operate on his own structure: Electric Tracks Records.
