Thou therefore endure afflictions as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No soldier gets entangled in the affairs of this life to please the one who chose him as a soldier. 5 And yet also strive for masteries, yet is crowned unless he strive lawfully. 6 The farmer who works should be the first to partake of the fruit. 7 Consider what I say and the Lord give you understanding in everything. 8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: 9 Wherein I suffer the affliction, to prison as a criminal, but the word of God is not bound. 10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. 11 faithful saying is this : that if we died with Him , we shall also live with him : 12 If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him , if we deny Him, He also will deny us: 13 If we are faithless, He remains faithful, He can not deny himself.
