Adam was what you might call a late bloomer to DJing.... During his time at university Adam was inspired by sets from Oakenfold and Sasha during the hey day of Cream and quickly realised the route his studies were taking him down was not the path for him. So a pair of decks and a cheap mixer were purchased and since then Adam has never looked back.
Early gigs included Blessed @ Gatecrasher, and The National Centre For Popular Music in Sheffield, and the ubercool Mello Mello bar in Liverpool. Adam followed this with a persistent promotional campaign - sending hundreds of e-mails and demos to promoters in the U.S. Many heard and were impressed by his demo CD, and organisations such as Balance Promote Group showed interest. From this he was offered gigs in LA, San Francisco and New York. He was booked to play alongside DJs such as Hybrid @ Tune in LA, a thursday night run by the Giant/Spundae team. His US tour climaxed when he headlined alongside Hakton ONal (Perfecto) at an illegal rave in Hollywood where he played to a crowd of over 3,000 people.
After a brief stint running his own night Saikei in his hometown Sheffield, Adam was headhunted by 3 Beat, one the worlds leading suppliers of underground dance music. He made the switch from Sheffield to Liverpool (again) and now resides over the techno/tech house and breaks departments (a field 3 Beat did not specialise in until Adam joined the team) serving many of the djs that first inspired him to become a dj such as Sasha, Digweed and Danny Howells.
Adam is no stranger to the studio either ..... initially working with Musa Hove as Parallel Sound (whos now signed to Hope Recordings) they gave their first track 'Are You Crazy' exclusively to Sander Kleinenberg who phoned them the next day to say how much he liked it. In 2002 they signed their track Certain Sound to Renaissance, which was later released on Sinister Recordings. More recently Adam has collaborated with Mike Miller as Dislodged with their latest track 'Catch My Riff' recently released on hot new electro label iO music.
Having also co-run his own label 3 Beat Breaks, promoted and held residencies at several nights, and played alongside the likes of James Zabiela, Infusion, Anthony Pappa, Jonathan Lisle, Paolo Mojo, Dave Robertson and Greg Vickers, Adam continues to push his twisted emotive tech tinged sound to the 4 corners of the globe. Incorporating, different shades of house, techno, and electronica into his innovative, unpredictable sets, Adam has played as far afield as Jakarta, San Francisco and Los Angeles and closer to home in Oslo and Brussels, playing for the likes of Renaissance, Gatecrasher (Bed), Qool and Satellite (SF), and Hooked (Norway), as well as regular appearances at Audio Deluxe, Empathy, Aztec, Baby Cream and Twisted Melon.
Most recently, Adam was runner up in IDJ's Raw Talent competition for August 07, and has followed this up with gigs in New York, Ukraine, San Francisco, Oslo and Poland as well as spending a year running Global Underground World Tours. Now he’s back in the studio, and has a forthcoming collaboration with Rhythm Code due for release on Cubism imminently together and with a residency at Liverpool based undergound house night: Vibrant 2009 is already off to a flyer!
