Stevie ray Vaughan was born in Dallas, Texas october 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990. is an american blues guitar legend. He formed in 1979 with drummer Chris Layton the band named Double Trouble The band was joined in 1981 by bass player Tommy Shannon and 1985 by keyboardist Reese Wynans. Stevie ray Vaughan tragically died on August 27. 1990 in a helicoper accident. having taken the seat that Erik Clapton would have been sitting in. He had a wide range of influences, most notably Albert King, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Erik Clapton, and Jimi Hendrix. There is by far only the smallest handful of blues guitarist that had a more direct impact on other musicians in the same genre as SRV. Although his death was a tremendous loss for his family and the music community as a whole, we have his legacy in his music, and for that we cannot be more thankful. Live without you all the love passed my way, the angels have waited for so long now they have their way....take your place...." live without you -
