On a warm spring day in May of 1980, Rafael Laguerre was delivered to the world. Through his upbringing in the Boogie Down Bronx, "Fito" was exposed to the world of music. Family and friends exposed him to Latin, Synth Pop and Hip Hop at home. In 1992, at the ripe age of 12, he touched a turntable for the first time and it was love at first sight. Instantly he developed the ability to beat match by blending Hip-Hop beats. At age 14, was further exposed to another genre of music, house music. At 15 a friend snuck him into his first night club, the infamous Cafe Con Leche at Club Expo in New York. This experience gave rise to Rafael's goal of becoming involved with music forever. Unforgettable was the pounding of the music and the diversity of the crowd. The realization that everyone danced like puppets as the puppetmaster dj controlled the vibe was like a ray of light for Rafael. This was what he was made to be a part of. This was his calling.
Focusing on achieving his goals, from DeWitt Clinton high school Rafael moved on to obtaining his Associate of Science Degree in Recording Arts at Full Sail Real World Education in Orlando, Florida where he ranked 1st Place in DeForest Cup Post Production Competition. Since then, as a Dj, Producer, Engineer, Lighting Operator and Technician, Rafael has had numerous music industry related positions such as lighting for: Joe Claussel, Francois K, Tommy Sunshine, Steve Travolta, Frankie Knuckles, Cezamaze. He has dj'ed with: Cezamaze, Ricardo Romaneiro, Jeppo, Lee Burridge, Behrouz, Tommyboy, Steve Maas, BKNY, Alex Terranova, Oscar Molina, Annexx, Marc Styles (nyc). He was a Recordist for The Loft Productions, a Lighting Operator at Club Love in NYC, and has done private parties with Jackie Christie. While working with Gary Stewart Audio, he set Danny Tenaglia's loft sound system and Club Spin's sound system and lighting system in Las Vegas (Hot 97.5). Rafael can play Keyboard and Drum Machines, creating House, Tech House, Techno, and/or Tribal music as if second nature.
