After getting interesting reviews on MySpace for nearly the last 3 years with my personal remixes (www.myspace.com/sadlyjohnny - now defunct), I've decided to let you hear what I hear - that twinge in your ear when you know you've made a hit or discovered others. I'm the type of person that looks continuously for something that makes my ears twitch and makes me shudder with a chill of pleasure when I hear it. Be a part.
My mixes of the underground industrial & experimental music scene(s).
This podcast is a funnel of energy, which way will you direct it?
...hopefully straight into your ears.
"Extremely thought provoking music." - iTUNES
"A sensational podcast on the experimental music scene without going all-out grindcore. We love JohNNY SuRReal!" - Podomatic.com

:About Me:
:Johnny:
Music is my life, eclectic, better than yours, or at least I like to think this anyway, but really, there's nothing better than someone playing me something new that I haven't heard before and for me to love it. Discovering new bands with real talent is always exciting, so recommend me something.
Personal identity is very important to me, and this shines through in the people I choose to associate with.
I enjoy "Modern Art", but I'm not talking about the 'Sh*t in a Can : Scene 23' or 'Toilet Seat Cover In Slow-Motion' modern art, I'm talking about real talented modern artists, NOT the elitist pretentious idiots at The Houston or Dallas Museums of Art.
Style and image is also very important to me, but then again, so is that bottle of Skyy in my fidge. I like to look good and do spend time on my appearance but in doing so I'm not vanity driven, shallow, or conceited. I don't own any "designer" clothes. People who can spend thousands of dollars on a single item of clothing are effectively just wearing a huge joke on thier backs. I can just as easily go out and spend a fraction of the price and still look as good as all the catwalk models. It's never about what you wear, it's always about how you wear it.
A Pet-Peeve:
When people say "Hey, you're gay, right?" No, I'm gay as well. That is an extension to my personality; meaning there's more to me than just being gay.
Please don't think that because I wear make-up and have an interest in image that I'm a raving camp queen. I'm not going to whinge about stereotypes because I understand sometimes that these are neccessary so we can all make generalisations. However, I just want to let you know that a certain image doesn't always equate to a certain behavior.
In this country we ridicule humour and theatrical flamboyance, but our appearance can be a powerful personal and political statement. For some people taking your life into your own hands on the nightbus is serious business. Difference of identity is a threat to societies' thin veneer of reality and it takes guts and character to oppose the tide of conformity.
"Strong visual concepts create strong feelings on human beings.
Those feelings drive them to such an extreme point of love and hate
towards the images they process in their minds;
almost as if it was a shock to their own system,
bringing them into contact with their emotions." -Ron Goldstein
I don't do drugs nor do I advocate against them. As long as they are not in my presence or offered to me I do not have a problem with others using them. Please just don't let it rule your life.
My only recreational drugs are cigarettes and Red Bull.
I'm free enough of cynicism to be able to see the good in almost anyone, but still I've always been an extremely good judge of character. I can see through people like they were cling film, so a false pretense or lie never washes with me.
