DJ Viper Don Biography
Born in London in 1972 DJ Viper Don got into the music scene age 16. First ever dance was Faith, at Limford Film Studios and never looked back since. Started off working for Dance zone FM in Essex ,UK, as an MC in the rave scene. It was here he met up with DJ Quest – who was part of the management at Dance Zone at the time. He started playing regularly at other bigger venues and clubs. People that inspired him in the scene at that time were DJ Slip Matt, Carl Cox , DJ Rap , Mickey Finn, Ratpack, Top Buzz , Ragga Twins, DJ Fabio and DJ Grooverider.
Viper started organizing events with DJ Quest, the Solid Vinyl show case, and the event called BPM, in Shoreditch.
DJ Viper Don played for Raindance, Jungle Fever, Heat and Fever, Kool London, Reclamation, Max Impact II, and dj’d on various gigs abroad.
Working with Five-O and Lady MC, Solid Vinyl did a showcase on drumandbassworldwide & Planet dnb .com Viper then went on to have his own show on internet radio station based in London. This is where Bootcamp was born, a lively jungle/dnb show, mainly promoting the roots and culture vibe in jungle / dnb. The show quickly grew a large fanbase. It was the late 90’s and Drum and bass and jungle had become massive in London and throughout the UK.
Then DJ Viper made his move to Origin FM which was the first analogue radio station that he had been on since Dance Zone FM. He soon got the interest from Kool FM, the multi award winning, longest running jungle/dnb/hardcore station on the planet. They took him on the station, originally starting Saturday mornings 7-9 and now is doing his weekly Bootcamp show still on the saturdays from 11-1 am. DJ Viper Don then started the now very well known Liquid Mondays on Kool FM, doing the first launch show. The show and the liquid monday crew nowadays gets massive respect that was long overdue. By staying focussed and on top of whats going on in the scene the crew manages to bring the best and newest dubplates to the listeners worldwide. DJ Viper Don continuous to promote the jungle and dnb with a passion, no retreat – no surrender. Combining DJ skills with the everlasting hunger to make things bigger and better and to have a brighter future for the scene as a whole , DJ Viper Don will continue to bring big things in 2008!
