Josh Haden was born in 1968 into a very musical family; his father is jazz bassist Charlie Haden, and his sisters are Petra Haden (that dog., Foo Fighters, Decemberists, Sean Lennon), Rachel Haden (that dog., Rentals), and Tanya Haden (Silversun Pickups, Let's Go Sailing). Josh's band Spain has released three studio albums to wide critical acclaim and have toured all over the world. Josh's compositions have been included in many movie and television soundtracks and were recorded on Grammy-winning albums by Johnny Cash and Pat Metheny & Charlie Haden, respectively. Josh Haden's debut solo lp 'Devoted' was produced by Dan the Automator and features performances by former Spain guitarist/current Jack Johnson bassist Merlo Podlewski, keyboardist John Medeski, and turntablist Kid Koala. It was released in February, 2007. A brand new album by Spain is forthcoming in 2008, as is the debut album by Josh's solo project Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Haden Family Album, which features Josh's family with guest appearances by Béla Fleck, Vince Gill, Bruce Hornsby, Pat Metheny, Ricky Skaggs, and many others.
