Subject: Podcast Only Plays a Few Mins

I am uploading my episodes in MP3 format.

When played on my podcast page, only the first few minutes play then the remainder of the show is silence.

I check the original files and they are complete, I only experience this problem when the file is uploaded and played on podomatic.

Once again, only the first four or five minutes of an hour long show is being played, the remainder is silence.

This sometimes happens to me. Try deleting your temporary files - you've probably partially downloaded an episode and each time you try to play it the browser opens the part-downloaded file.
Tools > Internet Options > Delete (Under Browsing History) > Delete Files

Same problem here.... Even with my own episodes, even with other users episodes....

And everyone who I sent my PodOmatic had the same problem...

And I can see this problem when I hear an episode, or when I try to download it (in same cases, I tried direct to download the episode, and there was the same problem.... Download about 10% and stop)...

I hope they fix this problem, very soom....

Mine is happening the same.
And it´s not a question of temporary files, I tryed in another machine and it behaves the same way.

Same thing happening with ALL episodes posted (I checked): the player just gives up working a few minutes into the show.

That's probably why stats have been up in the past week: the same people clicking on PLAY several times.

For some weeks we have been planning a massive advertising campaign to go with the episode we are about to post. Just how embarassing will that be if this problem isn't solved??

WILL SOMEONE FROM PODOMATIC PLEASE GIVE US SOME FEEDBACK?
WHAT EXACTLY IS THE MATTER WITH THE PODOMATIC PLAYER?
WHEN WILL IT START WORKING AGAIN?

I've just had to contact Pro Support as well. All episodes seem to be constantly buffering and downloading is practically impossible. Is this affecting other people? I'll report back when I get a response from Support.

I'm going to have to write a FAQ about this!

Usually, we have found that issues with downloading podcasts are traceable to the connection at home, not the one at Podomatic. (I'm a living testament to this-- we were tearing out our hair trying to fix it when we discovered it was the office wireless router causing the issue.)

If you're sure that your connection is rock-solid, the next thing to do is what you suggested: clear the browser cache and try again.

JADP, but I just listened all the way through about 4 hours of three podcasts (one of which was your latest episode), with no interruption.

Hi
I'm able to listen to some other podcasts on this site with no problem - which suggests the connection is fine. We are getting emails from listeners complaining of the same issue which is a concern.
Is there a problem somewhere at your end of the connection?

Everything that comes out of Podomatic's website goes through the same fiber-optic cable. That's the tricky part-- why would one show blink when another does not? It's all just data. We're going to run a new round of diagnostics to see if we can find an issue.

Thanks for looking into this. We're still suffering the same problem - constant buffering and downloads that crash halfway through.

Same problem here. Many of my fans are complaining. I just listened to all my episodes, same thing. I have tried on several different computers. I have done all the above, and still getting same.
