Subject: No update in a week Posted: Sun Oct 14 08:03:38 -0700 2007 I don't recall waiting this long for iTunes to update a new episode. It results in a huge decrease in listenership for the week. Anyone else notice? daverabbit is a PodOmatic Pro Podcaster.Visit daverabbit's podcast Learn about becoming a Podcaster

Subject: Re: No update in a week Posted: Sun Oct 14 13:38:40 -0700 2007 I'm sure it has to do with all the problems this week with the raid servers. Just a guess. Dave classicpoetryaloud is a PodOmatic Pro Podcaster.Visit classicpoetryaloud's podcast Learn about becoming a Podcaster

Subject: Re: No update in a week Posted: Mon Oct 15 01:36:59 -0700 2007 I have had the same problem with iTunes, and I guess that it has the same cause: the recent hardware issues. It is immensely frustrating, but I don't feel inclined to blame anyone. Let's hope it gets resolved and we're all back on our upward curve of listeners. classicpoetryaloud is a PodOmatic Pro Podcaster.Visit classicpoetryaloud's podcast Learn about becoming a Podcaster

Subject: Re: No update in a week Posted: Tue Oct 16 14:21:21 -0700 2007 My feed has just updated. I think it is because I followed the advice on Apple Support: http://www.apple.com/itunes/store/podcaststechspecs.html I pinged the iTunes server to update the podcast info. You can do it by entering the following URL into a browser: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?id=FEEDID where FEEDID is your iTunes podcast numeric ID. You can also use: https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/pingPodcast?feedURL=http://FEEDURL where FEEDURL is the url for your feed. I also checked the validity of the feed with www.feedvalidator.org and fixed one (minor) issue. I doubt if this was the problem, however, as I left some other issues unresolved. Good luck Classic Poetry Aloud

Subject: Re: No update in a week Posted: Mon Oct 29 01:59:54 -0700 2007 Thank you, my podcast dropped off and I had to put a ticket in to Apple support, did not know about this. But, I suspect it was a Podomatic based issue, noticed the stats disappeared as did my Podcast for a few days. This was while I was planning a funeral for my grandma & then evacuating my horse due to the fires after that, so if there were messages about the issues I missed them. My ranking is still not where it was in Itunes and I seem to have lost listeners, I suspect Itunes thought the podcast did not exist. Does this sound right? Pam |
