Read the post above ... WHAT keeps happening to you? My best guess is that you somehow managed to create and upload a podcast and now cannot do it. Except you have contributed no useful information regarding what you DID in the first place. Please describe you original process in some detail, including a) the OS of the computer you are using and b) the software you are using each step of the way. For example, it would be nice to know if you are using XP, Vista or OS X, and IE5, IE6, Firefox or Safari. Dave M

Do you have more than one episode out there? Check your My Media to confirm. It looks to me like your 11 May episode is the only one, though you mention you had previous postings. Should the previous episodes be missing, do you have local copies you can upload to restore them? Dave M

I guess I should add that the quality of your recordings is abysmal! I was just barely able to make out - maybe - some of your words. It sounds like you might have a nice voice, hidden behind all that noise and echo. We have to fix that. I can't believe you listened to that, so is it fair to guess that you are recording it via the POM web software? I strongly recommend you use Audacity (cross-platform and free) or GarageBand (Mac-only, small fee) to record and edit your episodes. The level of echo strongly suggests you are listening as you record, using the system's speakers sitting near the microphone? Try turning the sound off, or using a head-set. Lots of static suggests ... all sorts of possibilities. A really bad microphone, bad plugs between the mic and the computer, a bad mixer ... something is adding noise between you and your recording. If we can eliminate these problems, we may be able to hear your voice as it was intended. Let's get your message out there for the world to hear. Dave M

Yes, I did use the podomatic site and whatever they offered. I have since been shown how to use audacity and that works much better. I was just wondering if it was the podomatic site that was having the trouble. Like I said in my earlier post, the first one I created using their software worked great, after that, not luck. Thanks for the help. I will continue using audacity. :)

Same for me. The ads were showing (and slowly earning) until early April, and then stopped. I have contacted Google Adsense and will let you know if I receive a answer. Richard

I have attempted to do as suggested (many times), but with no joy - just blank bars where the ad should be, and search ads which while they appear on my page, don't function. This is very frustrating as I was hoping that the earnings from the ads would contribute to my podomatic subscription.

OK, let's start with the basics ... besides getting an account here. :) Record show: Mac - I recommend using GarageBand, but you can use the free Audacity. PC - many here use Audacity, it's a free download and offers many features. You'll want a microphone, if not provided with your computer. Any USB model costing at least $15 will give reasonable results but you'll want to spend at least $50 if the sound of your own voice is really important to you. If you are just stringing together MP3s, you don't NEED a microphone. Turn OFF your system's speakers! Record (and edit(?)) your content. With your content available, plug it in to your editor - Audacity or GarageBand - and listen to the result. Make sure your levels are loud enough to be heard but not popping into the red (cut-off) zone. Export the result when you are satisfied. If you are using GarageBand, this is where you would have added in your Cover Art. Now open up a browser (Safari, Firefox or (shudder) IE) and go to your My Podcast page. Click on "Post new Episode" (I think) and fill in all the boxes supplied. ALL the boxes. In ORDER. Not that they all matter, this just helps keep the confusion to a minimum. Post it! The blue line should move across your screen until done, and you've uploaded your first episode. You might - MIGHT - want to start with something shorter than you expect will be typical. This way things can go wrong much more quickly and you can get a good result that much faster. Questions? Dave M

Feed Views and Subscribers refer to people/machines "looking", Downloads refers to people actually starting to listen, or downloading so they can listen later. Right now all "listening" behavior is lumped together in the same stat. I'm told that might be fixed "later". I'll be happy to see that change, but am not holding my breath. It's all curiosity, after all. Dave M

Other than the obvious increase in bandwidth and storage, could someone explain the differences between the three packages, the page that you can sign up for it doesn't really tell me much about it, I mean is it just the adfree thing and increased bandwidth/space or is it more than that, I'm probably going to have to go pro soon because of the space my show takes up, but not sure which package is right for me.

There are several other lesser benefits as well. For example, the stats can be significant for serious folk, like those planning on running ads. The ability to redesign your page could well be a huge bonus - unless you did an excellent design job in your first 30 days. Mostly, though, it's more storage space and more bandwidth. Dave M

To be honest that is what i understand the differences to be. Of course the pro packages have exclusive tech support above and beyond what the free users get. Plus each of the pro levels allow you to customize your page to reflect your needs.

My podcast has images attached to it. The problem is, sometimes the images play and other times only the audio. Why is the podcast not playing correctly? Why would only the audio play? Someone help, please!

It plays for me. On my Mac. Care to bet your listeners who don't see the images are using Windows machines? I heard about this a while ago and was sent to http://www.free-codecs.com/download/3ivx.htm and, if that doesn't show up properly, search for 3ivx on the web. Dave M

I'm still having problems when I hit the play button!!...Nothing happens!!..I'm able to download episodes and play them on Windows Media 7 and above; They won't play on Quick Time Player!!!
