BLACK MUSIC collector and DJ from North London since the late 70s and a former radio presenter for BBC Essex where I presented "Jazz First" for five years.
I'm probably best known for my rare record business, ViRGO ViBES, a period when I travelled the globe crate digging for rare records. During the 90s I would regularly be found stalling out at London's Black Music record fairs, Russ Dewbury's Jazz Bop in Brighton and international record conventions in London, Paris and Milan.
I moved to the Costa Blanca in 2001, where currently I am the British media coordinator for the San Javier International Jazz Festival and write for the local press.
My main influences are James Hamilton, Robbie Vincent, Paul Murphy and Gilles Peterson. My musical taste veers towards jazz, though I'm still a sucker for a good tune. As Berry Gordy Jr. said "It's what's in the groove that counts!"
